I have posted the time trial photos and photos from the Cat 3 and Cat 4 races. A some point in the mid-afternoon I was called away from the races to prepare for incoming weather, so I don't have coverage of the women's and Cat 5 races. Sorry about that, as punishment, I got the bejinkers beat out of me by rain and wind on the freeway.

A couple of riders asked why the heck I was where I was on the time trial course? The first reason was because I wanted to experiment with some high-speed flash (so riders, you were really well dressed lab rats). I wanted to do that in a location where the equipment wouldn't be in the way. But the main reason is that it seemed to me to be a good place to capture the essence of time trialing.... extreme focus and self-induced pain. Look through the TT images, I think you see what I mean.

The "lab rat" traveling at high speed theme was continued during the crits, as we hunkered down in the first turn and fooled around trying to capture the speed and the chaos of the crit by shooting low and wide. I like the shot, but the sound made by pedals being buried in the corner is a bit unnerving.
